The Fort Boyard Challenge is a classic French long distance event at its 7th edition. This year the challengers ready to face the suggestive race course were 167, with a wind blowing between 20 and 25 knots.

RRD team riders Antoine Albeau and Julien Quentel have not a great start: Julien broke the mast of his 7.8 sail just 2 minutes before the start, while Antoine was caught by the line of the buoy on the starting line, so he felt down heavily on his 8.6 sail destroying it completely!

Anyway, the race was not over for Antoine. When he came back to the beach he fund Julien Quentel leaving with a 8.6, while Antoine grabbed his 9.5 and started again, 8 minutes late then the others! He passed one by one all the other riders and crossed the finish line in first position after 46 minutes of riding at wild speed!

Julien Quentel was the first one to cross the line behind Antoine, followed by Thomas Goyard, Gérald Pelleau and Bernard Olivier!

Very well done Antoine and Julien!

Альбо начинает гонку через 8 минут (!!!) после начала старта и приходит первым через 46 минут...
Julien Quentel вторым при старте не намного раньше, чем Альбо и только потом все остальные.
Че-то странно, я конечно понимаю, что марафон и все такое, судя по времени, дистанция порядка 40 километров, однако похоже, что соперники были классом намного ниже, типа как если бы Альбо выступал на Должанке..
Так, прикинул, его скорость была больше, чем у ближайших соперников, процентов на 20.
Офигеть..
